Not a ‘bra-burning feminist,’ not a Women’s Day celebrant…

The human race has two biologically defined genders, Male and Female.
Every gender has its value associated, its fair share of responsibilities bestowed. Every one has what it takes to be them.

How many of us actually know when is international Men’s day celebrated? Its celebrated on 19th of November. I am sure even many men didn't know that.
I am proud of being a woman, but I am no less proud of the men who make us woman enough!
I am sure God was perfectly impartial while designing human, He wasn’t corrupt or naïve enough to make a mistake that would invite him so much of work in the future. This is our doing.

So why do we have so much of woohoo attached with celebrating woman’s day? I personally find the idea too narcissistic and egoistical. So, women’s day is celebrated to celebrate feminism. It is a day we promote women equality. but why is equality for woman more celebratory than equality for men? Why are men not given all the privileges given to a woman. Privileges to be vulnerable, to take a self healing sabbatical from work, to have a sad day, to have no thought out or unplanned future, to live without the societal pressure of earning a bread? goes without saying, he should not be judged for any of this!

I personally believe that men and women are useless without each other.
Realistically what separates a man from a woman is her ability to reproduce. But this blessing is just a body function unless a man contributes. So why should we fight about the dominance of one over the other. Why overvalue the celebration of one when both are extremely and equally important.
I agree there are societies where women are deprived of their rights, and yes so we shall demand. But before demanding i believe that woman need to believe themselves, and show trust on men. For that matter both the genders need to trust each other.
For the other to love us believe you are worth it. For the other to respect us, respect the other equally, not more not less. For the other to value your contribution, value theirs’ equally. For the other to walk with you, adjust your speed with theirs’. Learn to speak, if you wish to be heard. mute mode and assumptions don't work.
Stand for equal rights, but remember equal starts in our minds. And equality is gender neutral. It is as much for a man as it is for a woman.
Equality is more than just equality, its greater, its acceptance.

Equality is a two way street. Its symbiotic.
Having equal rights is not just about empowerment, it also should be about having equal rights to be weak, to be vulnerable, to be unapologetic, to be human.
Education will bring equality.
Awareness will bring equality.
Self believe will bring equality.
Respect will bring equality.
Empathy will bring equality.

And equality will bring liberation.
